Citizen Participation Mechanism

Betri Reykjavík (Better Reykjavík) launched in 2010, a week before the municipal elections in Reykjavík. It has become a platform that supports citizen engagement in developing policy for the city, whilst simultaneously hosting Reykjavík's participatory budgeting process. The platform demonstrates a new model for utilizing technology to support citizen engagement in generating policy suggestions for the management and development of Reykjavik.
